The TX30 is a protocol translator designed to convert DMX-512 lighting control signals into the AMX-192 multiplex protocol for use with compatible Lightronics dimming systems and lighting devices. Ideal for retrofit projects, system upgrades, and mixed-protocol installations, the TX30 allows modern DMX-based lighting controllers to operate existing AMX-192 controlled equipment without requiring replacement of installed infrastructure.
Key Features
The TX30 accepts standard DMX-512 control signals and converts them into the AMX-192 multiplex protocol. This allows DMX-compatible lighting consoles and controllers to communicate with existing multiplex dimmers and lighting equipment, extending the useful life of installed systems while providing compatibility with newer control technologies.
Addressing is configured using onboard DIP switches, allowing the DMX starting address to be selected in two-channel increments. A hold function and DMX termination function are also provided through DIP switch settings, simplifying installation and system configuration. Front-panel indicators provide visual confirmation of power status and valid DMX signal reception for straightforward troubleshooting and operation.
The TX30-TX192 features standard 5-pin DMX input and pass-through connections, allowing the device to be installed directly within an existing DMX control chain. AMX-192 output is provided through a 4-pin male XLR connector for connection to compatible multiplex dimming equipment.
Designed for dependable operation in permanent and portable lighting systems, the TX30 can receive phantom power from compatible multiplex dimmers or operate from an external 12VDC power supply. Its compact enclosure measures 5.125 inches wide by 1.75 inches high by 5.25 inches deep, making installation simple in control racks, dimmer rooms, and equipment cabinets. The TX30 provides a practical solution for integrating DMX-512 control systems with existing AMX-192 lighting infrastructure.
